OCCAM Credits HowTo
C3S Coins are managed by the coordinators of the Departments having access to OCCAM. Users can book OCCAM's nodes (also called "Resources" in the booking system) using the credits in their personal account. This is a short introduction on how to exchange credits (C3S Coins) between coordinators and users and between users.
From the upper menu bar, select the "SuperComputer OCCAM" menu item and select the "Resource Booking system" link. Selecting the "Credits" item from the "My Account" menu, a screen like the one below should appear:
All your operations with C3S Coins can be managed through these web pages.
Help me: i need credits !
A user that needs some C3S Coins for booking resources on OCCAM, can ask for some amount of C3S Coins by clicking on "My Account"->"Credits" and then clicking on "Request Credits". A form like the one below should appear :
In the example above, the user is a member of the "Dipartimento di Informatica" and it's coordinator actually is "Sergio Rabellino"; this user already owns 61 C3S Coins.
At the bottom of the form, a list of past requests is shown along with the time of the request, the attached research abstract and the status of each single credit request.
Adjust the Quantity field to the correct amount for your computation needs and attach a research abstract were you describe your activity - preferably in PDF format - and simply push the button "Request Credits".
I would like to give some C3S Coins to a collegue!
The system allows exchanging credits between users: clicking on "Credits Transfer" should yield the following screen
Adjust the quantity to the correct amount and select the target user from the drop-down list that appears when starting to type in the Payee field:
If the Payee user does not appear in the list, then probably he/she never logged into the booking system if so, the transfer is strictly forbidden until the user logs in for the first time.
Now clicking on "Transfer Credits" the user will transfer the amount from his account to the Payee's account:
BEWARE: after clicking on "Transfer Credits" the transfer operation cannot be canceled.
The same procedure described above allows to transfer credits between any two users of the OCCAM's facility, irrespectively of their role. For example, credits may be trasferred between users or from an user to a coordinator. So each user can exchange (trade...) credits with any other user and every credit transfer is logged for statistical and monitoring purposes.
I'm a Coordinator.
The system allows the Departmental Coordinators to manage the Credit Requests clicking on the item "Manage Credit Requests" should yield the following screen:
where the Departmental coordinator can view/approve or deny their members rquests. From this page the Coordinator can download and view the request abstract submitted by the users asking for C3S Coins.
The Coordinator can also access a page that displays the current status of their Departmental members, by clicking on "User Credits Report", the following screen will appear:For each member the Coordinator can view the time of last login into the Resource Booking system and the current credit owned.
Good, but i've got a suggestion...
If you have any question on this tool or any suggestion on how to improve it, please feel free to open a ticket in the OCCAM Helpdesk facility.
