Origin

The OCCAM SuperComputer (from the name of the english franciscan friar William of Ockham, author of the a problem-solving principle "Occam's razor") - acronym of Open Computing Cluster for Advanced data Manipulation - it's an High Performance Computer designed and managed in collaboration between the University of Torino and the Sezione di Torino dell'Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare and funded by "Compagnia di San Paolo".
